The Law of Sowing and Reaping.

In the Body of Jesus Christ we can all learn from each other, for we are called IN Him to serve the Lord God in the fullness of the Spirit of Holiness.  Many years ago, I gleaned from some of the thoughts of the author John Sandford, for he had some interesting writings on the law of sowing and reaping. The following thoughts, are some of my understanding that were gleaned through the Grace of Almighty God.

A beginning starting point for us, would be to understand that some universal laws are subject to, or influenced by other laws.  Gravity is seemingly a fixed law, but this law, depending on circumstances, can be overcome.  For a simple example: Here on earth, if a propulsion force exceeds the gravitational force of the earth, then space flight out of the bounds of the earth is possible. Newton's laws of motion are an interesting parallel to the spiritual law of sin and death, being set at naught by God's law of love.

The third law of motion states that for every action there is an opposite, but equal reaction.  Evil was birthed within Lucifer's free will spirit, and with his own sin's of lust, and having a mind's desire for power, his wicked rebellion completely consumed any love he had for his Creator God.  But God, within His Holiness, is Love, and now the Love of Holy God will contest and overcome Lucifer's opposite force of evil.  If a force with its mass, is not slowed or stopped by an opposite and greater force, with a greater substance of mass, then it will continue unimpeded. In God's great Salvation, the dynamic force of the Perfect Love of God, within the Body of the Man Christ Jesus, overcame the opposing force of all of hell's wickedness.  Jesus Christ, as the Son of Man, revealed to the world that sin and death has no power over His Perfect Love and obedience to His Father God Almighty.  The first Adam rebelled against God and set in motion, death within all of mankind.  The Second and Last Adam, Loved His Father God perfectly, and in Perfect Obedience gave His Life as a Sacrifice on the cross, to satisfy God's demands of death from the sins of the first Adam and those of his generational offspring of man.

Jesus, the Christ of  God, in His resurrection, triumphed over the force of our sin and death, and in so doing, the Son of Man also crushed the power of the corrupted enemy of God.  In the Garden of Eden, God proclaimed with His Word, that the pure genetic Seed of Woman/Ishshah, would crush the head of evil. (See Genesis 3 verse 15.)   The Word of God was conceived in the genetic seed of the Jewish virgin Mary as the Son of Man, and the Perfect Love and obedient heart of Christ Jesus, as set in motion God's righteousness in the repentant heart of human kind.  When the wrath of sin has run its final course in the earth, then God will bring an eventual end to the existence of the force of evil before all flesh is destroyed in the apocalypse.  (See Matthew 24 verse 22.)

All children of mankind are thoroughly immersed into this life, within the polluted confluence of sin's many derivative streams, flowing from its wicked beginning source of Lucifer.  The pollution all began with Satan's subtle enticements of Adam and Eve, to become god like with their participation in the forbidden 'Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil'.  In reality the Tree of Knowledge was forbidden because the tree with its fruit produced confusion over what is good and what is evil.  And so it remains today, for its seeding springs forth with I-dolatrous sin, with its twisted root of self serving judgments of good and evil that remain seeded within the mind and heart of man.

With its flowering of evil and further seeding of confusion within the realm of the natural law of sowing and reaping, the confusion of sin, is naturally compounded as it runs its beginning course within a child's self determination with their experiences in life.  In the beginning of life, a child's thoughts are initiated through their parent’s actions and communications, or the parents lack of actions and communications with their child. The parents own iniquity linked with prejudicial judgments and disciplines, or their preferential treatments, with lack of disciplines, are passed on to the self serving minds of their children to judge and act upon.  As the children grow in age and marry, their experience and resulting decisions, are likewise passed on to their children, and then to their children, etcetera, etcetera, as the sowing and reaping of sin's self defiling nature continues.  Hence, the sins of the fathers, are like weed seeds drifting in the wind, and are returned and deposited within the souls and minds of their future generations: Without recourse, those generations will be harvested and bound as tares of iniquity and burned, as sin's unrighteousness continues to flourish within the law of sowing and reaping.

For I AM, the LORD your God, a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing loving kindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My Commandments. (Deuteronomy 5 verse 8 thru  10.)

No matter what the spiritually uninitiated or uninformed person would presently think or understand, God’s unseen universal and impersonal law's of increase, will continue to work unabated, whether for the increase of good or evil.  Evil will continue, as long as sin is perpetuating itself in the natural realm of mankind.  With the latter, we witness God's admonishment to Israel's indifference to God, with the sure return of their own iniquity upon their own heads: Thine own wickedness shall chasten thee, and thy backslidings shall judge thee: Know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that My fear is not in thee, says the Lord GOD of hosts. (Jeremiah 2 verse 19.)

All of God’s natural and just moral laws, which were set in the universe for good, have impersonal and irrevocable consequences when violated or not risen above.  If you leave your hand in the fire, certainly you will be burned, and likewise, you can be sure your sin or confused error of judgment will eventually find you out.

Witness what Moses said to the children of Reuben and the children of Gad, who, because of their considerable amount of sheep and cattle, desired to have for their inheritance the grassy land on the eastern side of the Jordan.  And Moses said unto them, If you will do this thing, if you will go armed before the LORD to war, and will go all of you armed over Jordan before the LORD, until He hath driven out His enemies from before Him, and the land be subdued before the LORD: then afterward you shall return, and be guiltless before the LORD, and before Israel; and this land shall be your possession before the LORD. But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out. (See Numbers 32 verse 1 thru 23.)  With Moses' Godly influence, the men of Gad and Ruben agreed to go with the other tribes, to fight for all the land that the Lord God had given to Israel on the other side of the Jordan river.

In our total obedience to God, our God will protect the hearts that are set upon Him alone.  Our holy and just God hates sin for the destructive force that it brings to His creation, and especially to the family of man.  In the law of sowing and reaping, sin, this ungodly renegade force condemned by the just moral commandments, and enforced by the law of return, has no other place to go, except back to the source from where it was initiated from, that being the sinner, and the prodigy of Adam and Eve.  Sin is the sting of death, and the strength of sin is enforced through the condemnation by the just Laws of God in the Commandments.  (See 1st Corinthians 15 verse 56.)

In our flesh, we are all sinners, condemned by the Decalogue, and the body of this sinful flesh will, in the end, reap the corruption of sin and return to dust.  Apart from God’s redemption of souls, born of God's Spirit of Faith in Christ Jesus, when the sinning soul dies, it dies from the final blow from the force of the curse and violence of sin upon the soul.  By the dynamic and inevitable force of the law of return, the unredeemed soul that was born of sin, will finally reap its inevitable curse of death.  With the death of that soul, there is the end of sin’s corruption, for the soul that sinned has perished in final death with out redemption's Faith.  The sowing of Sin’s violence, will eventually cease to exist, when the final rewards of death are reaped in judgment upon the last of sin defiled man.   In the finality, this will also usher in the judgment of Satan and his followers, bringing about the final death of sin.  Perhaps, a redundancy of thought, but given for the emphasis for what man will become without faith in the Salvation WORD of GOD, and the Perfect Love of God in Jesus Christ, Who fully reaped unto Himself the sins of the world.  In His Perfect Love, Jesus Christ defeated the violence of our sin; consuming its evil in the flesh of his human body,  and in His resurrection from death, the Lord of Glory snatched the keys of hell and death from the source of evil.

The Lord Jesus, in his teaching, implores his followers to be like his Father and to bless all, and thus overcome the force of evil with love and goodness.  For I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; So that you may be the children of your Father Who is in heaven: for He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love them, which love you, what reward have you? Do not even the publicans the same? (Matthew 5 verse 44 thru  46.) God’s ultimate law of sacrificial Love is a greater force than evil, and makes the faithful follower in the Way of Jesus Christ, to be fully an over comer to the law of sin and death.

In reviewing the case of seedtime and harvest, this natural law of God was designed to bring an increase in the harvest of blessing, when good is done.  But unfortunately, when sin entered into the universe with Lucifer's rebellion, God's good law of abundance, intended for the blessing of goodness, also brings about the increased seeding and reaping of sin, with its cursing and destructive force, even as directed by the universal laws of God.  Of course, in man’s confused judgment, there appears to be unevenness or fairness on the return harvest of blessing and cursing upon individuals, who, in our eyes, are judged to be either good or bad.  The natural man in us judges God, as being helplessly unfair in the distribution of His just law.  In our appraisal, it seems that evil events befall the good people, and apparently, good overcomes and rewards the wicked.  Perhaps, it might be a little too simple to say that; “God’s perfect good will, is not done on earth”, but at this moment of time, because of the will of sin's existence in the earthly, that is exactly the case. (See Matthew 6 verse 9 thru 10.)

Well, you might say, why does not God eliminate the wicked now, so that only good would increase?  Good would increase, but unfortunately, with our innate willfulness, within this selfish body of flesh, you and I, and the rest of mankind would not be included in the goodness.  Past and presently, the Prince of Wickedness has indelibly left his mark of ownership in the flesh of all of mankind, and our judgmental actions show that we all have belonged to him, seeing that we are all sinners, born of the flesh of sinners, and all the flesh of sinners will be reduced to dust and ashes.  Through Adam and his sin of rebellion, mankind unknowingly has cast its lot with Satan, the master of deceit.  If God would bring about the immediate destruction of Satan, wickedness would cease to be, and without God's remedy in Jesus Christ, so would Satan’s offspring of sin.

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: For had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (1st Corinthians 2 verse 7 thru  8.) And the Lord of Glory, is the Perfect Love of God that overcomes the world; for God is Love.

It is we, who are ignorantly unjust and unfair, and it is Holy God, Who is not only just and fair, but extremely patient, waiting for the return of His expectant harvest of sons and daughters, whose souls would be born again into Life, through the sowing of His perfect Word of Love, mercy and Truth of His Son, Christ Jesus.  God has justly determined that the entity of sin has to be destroyed, and certainly, God could have terminated sin with the elimination of Satan, and all of sin defiled mankind.  But for mankind, this was not, is not, and shall never be an acceptable choice for the God of the Living.  In His wisdom and infinite foreknowledge of evil, God had a plan for the Salvation of mankind, and also for the destruction of the entity of sin and death, and all the while preserving the soul of man, begotten of Godly faith.  God has given mankind a free will to choose between the supreme goodness He offers in the Life of His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, or the choice of death that is sown within our devilish nature of self centered flesh.

As it is, God will allow His Law of Sowing and Reaping, to chastise the rebellious sons and daughters of man, so that they may see their hopelessness, to the onslaught of the return of their harvest of death and destruction; and would, before their eventual demise, surrender and return to the only God of the living through His Son, Jesus Christ.  Even the redeemed of the Lord, are not immune to their own wrong doings that are sown through the flesh; for you can be sure that your confusion of sin will find you out.

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.  (Matthew 24 verse 21 thru  22.)
